常见问题解答

MM2H is a Malaysian Government programme that allows eligible foreign nationals to reside in Malaysia under a Long-Term Social Visit Pass with multiple-entry privileges, subject to the requirements of the approved category.

The current federal programme has four main categories: Platinum, Gold, Silver and Special Economic Zone / Special Financial Zone. The standard pass durations are 20 years, 15 years, 5 years and 10 years respectively, subject to programme conditions and renewal requirements.

Under current rules, applicants for Platinum, Gold and Silver are generally required to be at least 25 years old. The SEZ/SFZ category currently allows eligible applicants from age 21.

Current fixed-deposit requirements are USD1 million for Platinum, USD500,000 for Gold and USD150,000 for Silver. For SEZ/SFZ, the current requirement is USD65,000 for applicants aged 21-49 and USD32,000 for applicants aged 50 and above.

Under the current federal MM2H rules, qualifying residential property ownership is mandatory after approval. The current minimum values are RM2 million for Platinum, RM1 million for Gold and RM600,000 for Silver. SEZ/SFZ property conditions are subject to the applicable state and programme requirements.

The current programme requires at least 90 cumulative days of stay per year. For certain younger participants, the requirement may be fulfilled by the principal or eligible dependants according to current programme rules.

Not all MM2H categories provide the same rights. Under current federal rules, employment and business/investment activities are permitted under the Platinum category, while Gold, Silver and SEZ/SFZ participants generally need the appropriate separate pass for employment or business activities.

Current programme rules allow eligible dependants such as a spouse, qualifying children, medically certified disabled children and parents or parents-in-law. Specific age and status conditions apply to adult children.

Current MOTAC rules require new and renewal MM2H applications to be processed through an MM2H tourism operating company licensed by MOTAC and through the MM2H One-Stop Centre.

No. MM2H is a long-term residence programme and does not itself provide a route to Malaysian Permanent Residency or citizenship.
